Take note people: After Sonar Festival 2006 & Noorderslag/Eurosonic 2007 & 2008 we are very happy to announce that we are doing a showcase at the Popkomm in Berlin on October 10th! The organisation picked us alongside five other European hiphop acts to do a show at Club Cassiopea. Popkomm is the biggest international music and entertainment business trade show of Europe, with over 16.000 visitors from over 60 countries each year, so this is a very important gig for us. Since we are still looking for worldwide distributors and bookers, we are available for meetings during Popkomm.

Hey everybody… a quick last minute call to all our fans. This Thursday we will be playing live for 3voor12 radio at the DeSmet Studios in Amsterdam. We’ll perform from 22:25 to 22:35 for radio and TV and from 22:35 to 22:38 for TV only. Entrance is free starting at 21:00. Come through!

We’re very proud to announce that we’re the first Dutch hiphop act ever to be featured on the US MySpace Hip-Hop page! We’ll be the featured artists for the rest of the week, you can check it out at http://music.myspace.com.

Now onto something different… the merchandise is now available!

We have tanktops for the ladies and t-shirts for all the men. The tanktops go in sizes S, M and L. The mens shirts in sizes S, M, L and XL. Both the mens and ladies shirts are €25 (including shipping costs within the Netherlands. Outside of the Netherlands the shirts are €30 including shipping costs). Theres only a limited amount available so be quick!

Apart from t-shirts you can also still buy our album, Vibing High. For €17,50 within the Netherlands and €20 outside of the Netherlands, including shipping costs, Vibing High is yours!

All you have to do to get the merchandise is send an e-mail to hanneke@lamelodia.com and let us know:

The Vibing High tour is almost wrapping up, but there are still three shows coming up for y’all to check out! If you live near or in Heerlen come check us out tomorrow at De Nieuwe Nor, or if you live around Haarlem we’re at Patronaat on Saturday. The last show of the tour will be at the Effenaar in Eindhoven on April 10th. But don’t worry, there will still be a lot of live shows coming up after that!

As you can see we’ve changed things up a little bit. Mad props to Mylou Oord for the new pictures, make sure to check out her work here.

Also if you’re around the Eindhoven area, we’re having a show at the Area51Skatepark this Thursday. It’s free of entrance and starts around 20:00 so come check it out!

And there’s more exciting news… This upcoming Saturday January 12 we will play a very special show at the Noorderslag Festival in Groningen. This show will be the first time that we perform together with our live band so definitely come check this out! We will go on from 23:45 until around 00:15 at the LiveXS Basement of the Oosterpoort.

This weekend we will also give y’all a little preview of our upcoming video for our new single, Worldwide Connect featuring Roc C (Stones Throw), directed by Frank Nitty.

We’re very happy to announce we will be performing at Groningen’s Noorderslag festival on January 12th 2008. You can catch us WITH LIVE BAND in the LiveXS Kelder between 23:50 and 00:20. Make sure to stop by and check out our new show!

Apart from performing and working on a brand new live show we’re also working on our 2nd music video! We expect the video for “World Wide Connect” to premiere mid-January. Keep an eye out for it!

We’ve just wrapped up the tour with Pete Philly & Perquisite and ofcourse had our very own releaseparty for “Vibing High” of which you can check out some pictures in the Media section. Also in the Media section right now, lots of updates with magazine articles from all over the world!

Currently we are also working on a brand new liveshow which you’ll be able to come check out in March. More info on this soon!

We’ll have La Melodia T-Shirts very very soon. Both mens as well as female sizes, and ofcourse you will be able to order them online!

Last but definitely not least. State Magazine is set to release their annual “Homegrown” compilation album soon and as usual YOU can decide who appears on the album. “Homegrown” is a compilation featuring the best up & coming acts from the Netherlands. This year “TIME” is nominated and ofcourse we have to get a spot on this compilation! Only the songs with the most votes will appear on the CD so we need your help. Send an e-mail to homegrown@statemagazine.nl and tell them why you think La Melodia’s “TIME” deserves to be on that CD. The deadline is November 23rd!!

Finally! After having released our album on Handcuts/Universal Japan in 2006, we’re finally in Japan ourselves! Our schedule consists of a show, a DJ/MC gig, interviews, meetings with sponsors, perhaps a recordingsession and who knows what else!?!

Our first single “TIME”, taken off the album “Vibing High”, is now available online through iTunes, Glandigo Music, Ster Music, Mega Media Magazine, Shopbusters and many other locations. Make sure you check it out!

As part of TMF’s Kweekvijver we shot a video for “TIME” directed by Kas. You can watch the video here, check it out and leave us a comment to let us know what you think of it!

Melodee hosts a brand new radioshow on Lijn5 alongside Radna and Tom Trago. You can listen and download “Future Vintage” here every Monday, as well as download shows from earlier dates.

There’s a LOT of stuff going on surrounding La Melodia in the next few months, so make sure to keep your ears and eyes open!

First off we have the official release party for our first video “TIME” at Bitterzoet, Amsterdam on May 24th.

On June 4th we’ll then be at the TMF studios for a interview alongside the “Making Of…” and the premiere of the “TIME” video. Live at Reaction on TMF between 16:30 Hrs - 17:30 Hrs CET.

June 6th we’ll perform live at the Contre Temps #04 Festival in Strasbourg, France. And June 9th we’ll perform live at the Best Kept Secret Weekender at Sugar Factory in Amsterdam, followed by another “TIME” video release party at Stroomhuis in Eindhoven on June 16th. On June 30th we’ll be live on stage in Paradiso alongside Talib Kweli, Jean Grae and Blocnotes.

July 1st we’ll perform at the Live For Life Festival in Arnhem and on July 7th at the New Attraction Festival in Groningen. We’ll also be performing live in Sudan, Africa on a soon to be announced date in July. Check out the ‘Shows’ section for a full overview of our upcoming shows.

And last but definitely not least, September 28th will be the official releasedate of “Vibing High” in the Benelux! More information will follow!
